Home2Work is currently being developed and growing. It is born out of a mission to provide quality secondary education that focuses on real-world applications of skills. Our focus will be students seeking employment, attending a community college, or owning a business after high school. College-bound students will benefit from the classes as elective credits. We will leverage technology, community partnerships, outside activities, and in-person meetings to provide a seamless, flexible education for all students.
About the Provider
I am Christy Conquy. I received a degree from Converse College in the Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in 1996 with certifications in deaf education and elementary education. I have been involved in the educational setting since that time. I have served as a substitute teacher and a personal assistant for a child with special needs in the Department of Defense Dependents Schools. I worked for Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools for 10 years. I taught 5th grade in a regular classroom and in a middle school self-contained special education classroom. I began homeschooling in 2009. Since that time, I have graduated 3 students. I currently have students in 12th, 10th, 7th, 5th, 3rd, 2nd, and kindergarten. I have taught several high school level group classes throughout those years including chemistry, ASL 1, and ASL 2.
